Trauma Intensives

Advanced Trauma Therapy Intensive (ATTI) is a customizable and client-focused approach to addressing trauma and grief. ATTI consists of multiple sessions over repeated days with a single therapist who has prepared a therapeutic protocol specific to the client. Interventions are designed to address the specific trauma(s), behaviors, and needs of the client. A thorough intake occurs to identify what has worked and not worked in the past, taking feedback from past providers and supporters to develop the curriculum, and engaging the client in taking part in developing their treatment protocol. An in-depth records review and service provider coordination will occur prior to the intensive beginning. Additionally, an outcome meeting is scheduled for all persons involved in the client’s care to establish new supports, safety plan, and review progress made.

A single ATTI day adds up to eight, 45-50 minutes sessions. We consider one treatment day to be equivalent to 2 months of weekly therapy, however the impacts are substantially more powerful because of the continuity of the work. ATTI protocols typically last 5-10 days based on needs and will be modified for different developmental and intellectual functioning levels. Based on age and attention level, it may be recommended that client participate in half days versus full day protocols. Due to the nature of intensive trauma work, supervision and designated support individual(s) must be identified and coordinated before services begin.

Advanced Trauma Therapy Intensive (ATTI) Interventions include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
  • Creative Expression/Art Therapy
  • Mindfulness and Movement
  • Psychoeducation
  • Interpersonal Process Therapy
Family therapy, provider support training, and foster/adoptive parent engagement services also provided in conjunction with ATTI client protocol.

The Center for Safety and Healing does not accept insurance directly. However, we collaborate closely with local Community Service Boards (CSB) and Family Assessment and Planning Teams (FAPT) to facilitate access to our services. If approved by your locality, these services are often covered as part of FAPT involvement. Additionally, we work under a statewide contract with Evidence Based Associates and the Department of Juvenile Justice, allowing us to provide services through these partnerships.

For those not utilizing FAPT/CPMT/DJJ funding, we can provide a monthly superbill, which you may submit to your insurance carrier for potential reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network coverage.
