Morgan Potts, LCSW, CSOTP Trainee: Morgan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She holds certifications as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a CSOTP trainee. Her professional experience began in a methadone clinic, where she provided individual therapy focused on substance use and recovery. She then worked at Central State Hospital in Petersburg, primarily with men awaiting competency evaluations for pending charges, facilitating group therapy and assisting with case management, treatment planning, competency restoration, and discharge planning. Morgan has also spent two and a half years working in a residential setting with male youth ages 12-17 undergoing TSAY treatment following incidents of sexual acting out in the community. In this role, she provided intensive individual and family therapy, group therapy, treatment planning, discharge planning, and assessments. Specializing in the treatment of sexual acting out and deviant sexual arousal—primarily with adolescent and adult males—she has expertise in forensic social work and trauma recovery. She has received training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She enjoys using a variety of therapeutic interventions including art, games, and stories to meet the unique needs of each individual. Out of the office, she is usually spending time outside, reading, or gardening.
