Emma Powers, Clinical Support and Administrative Specialist, Counseling Intern

Emma is a graduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University working toward her Master's degree in Counseling Education with a concentration in Couples and Family counseling. She has experience working with individuals experiencing houselessness and providing crisis stabilization from her previous role as a mental health skill builder. Emma hopes to work with women and couples on topics of connection, intimacy, and sexual wellness using a trauma-informed and person-centered approach. At the Center for Safety and Healing, Emma will provide therapy services under supervision to develop her clinical skills across diverse populations. She is committed to offering client-centered support and care with a trauma-informed lens.

Emma is also a clinical administrative assistant at the Center for Safety and Healing. Her passion for mental health work and dedication to the clients and staff of CSH led her to take on an additional role beyond her internship. Through this position, Emma strives to provide clients with a smooth and compassionate welcome to the Center for Safety and Healing from their first contact with us through to their initial session with a CSH therapist.
