Emily Kniskern, Counseling Intern
Emily is a graduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University pursuing her Master of Education in Counseling with a concentration in Couples and Family. She brings a strong foundation in student support, crisis management, and trauma-informed care developed through her roles in academic advising, peer mentoring, and residential life. Emily is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate complex emotional challenges and is especially interested in working with children impacted by foster care, family separation, and divorce. At the Center for Safety and Healing, Emily will be providing therapy services under supervision, with a focus on building clinical skills in trauma counseling, family dynamics, and child and adolescent support.
